Laughing Bear is a select group of experienced writers, editors, illustrators, photographers, and printers who have long come together to work on various projects (think The Dirty Dozen or Oceans 11).
MASON SINGER creative director
Mason Singer is an award winning graphic designer and publications consultant. He has worked in the field for many years and has designed hundreds of publications. Mason has taught elements of graphic design for a number of schools and workshops, been a member of the faculty at the Vermont Governor’s Institute on the Arts, and speaks to groups about developments in design.
Mason is the founding director of two nonprofit organizations:
• Perennial Press Company — a nonprofit education and publishing center specializing in the tradition of typography, hand set type, and letterpress printing.
• Vermont Network for Community Newspapers (VNCN)— which has organized and run two statewide conferences designed to strengthen the role of independent, community-based newspapers in Vermont.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of numerous nonprofit organizations (Live Art, Circus Smirkus, Onion River Arts Council, Black Horse Films, and Toward Freedom — Vision and Advocacy for Human Rights and Global Democracy, among others) and has recently served on the board of Summit School for Traditional Music and Culture. Mason currently serves on the The Bridge Media board, and is the director of The Laughing Bear Associates.
